This multiple-entry visa subclass applies to people who are interested in a working holiday for up to 12 months. Australia’s Working Holiday program’s purpose is to promote international understanding by enabling young people to experience the culture of another country. This visa allows applicants to work in Australia for 6 months with one (1) employer and successful applicants are also allowed to study up to 4 months.
In the recent legislative changes, a visa holder who has spent a minimum of 3 months as a seasonal worker in regional Australia is eligible to apply for a second Working Holiday Visa.
Requirements for applying for this visa:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not more than 30 years old and must not have any dependent children.
- Applicants must also meet health and character requirements; they must have funds to travel in and out of Australia.
- Applicants must hold a valid Working Holiday eligible passport if applying online. They must also complete and accomplish Form 1150 (Application for a Working Holiday Visa) and submit certified copies of all necessary documents.
Processing time for this visa usually takes 48 hours however, this may vary from country to country and according to the applicant’s personal circumstances; it may take around 1-2 weeks.
Once this visa is granted, the department will send a notification of grant via letter or email. Otherwise, they will send a notification of refusal.
