Requirements in applying for migrant visa

Choose the right application form that corresponds to the type of migrant visa that you are applying for. All application forms must be filled up and completed in the English language.
Health and Character Background Checks
People applying for a migrant visa must pass the health requirements. Each individual must undertake a medical examination and chest X-ray examination.
Applicants are also required to take a series of Hepatitis & HIV tests for persons aged 15 years and above. Australian immigration rules require that all visa applicants who wish to stay in the country for more than 12 months must meet character requirements. This will involve checking if the individual has no criminal records from the police station.
Certified Documents
Visa applicants must provide certified copies of documents such as birth and marriage certificates, educational, trade qualifications, and employer references. All documents must be certified by a legal professional, a Judge or other person authorized to witness statutory declarations, and must state that the photocopy is a true copy of the original. Original documents are not needed unless it’s specifically requested.
Payment
Payment costs for applying for a visa depends on the types of visa. Ensure that you have a good chance of getting accepted before applying for the right visa class and making an application.
Interviews
If you meet the criteria for migration to Australia, you will be invited to attend an interview with an immigration officer. If you fail to attend the scheduled interview, your application won’t be automatically refused but the decision will be made on the basis of the information provided.
If you’re invited to an interview, always answer the questions positively and be careful in answering tricky questions.
Validity
If you meet the requirements and have been accepted for immigration, they will ask you to send your passport to the embassy or consulate and they will have the visa stamped. You must enter Australia within the six (6) month period upon the visa was stamped. Failing to enter Australia within the initial entry date or before the migrant visa expires will mean that you will need to re-apply for a new visa.
